Project Title: LEXIPEDIA

Τhe project is divided into five distinct phases. The first phase begins in September 2014 and the last phase ends in August 2016.

Phase A: Preparation, September – December 2014

This is the preparation phase. The managerial framework that will be created in this phase will guide the partners throughout a successful implementation.

The foreseen activities are the following:

  • Preparation of the administrative file by the coordinator. A number of documents, like the work plan, the updated budget, a contract sample, forms of attendance, work descriptions, reimbursement plans, logotypes etc. are part of this file.
  • Research. All members of the partnership will look into the language capacity of the members of the local communities, to be taken into account in the next phases.
  • Kick-off meeting. The participants will be the local coordinators and each partner’s person responsible for the education. The meeting will last 3 days and will take place in Larisa (GR). In the meeting, administrative, financial and educational matters will be discussed, in addition to the educational material, which will be developed later. All partners will conduct a SWOT analysis.
  • Project logotype and general graphics, created by the coordinator.
  • Website of HoMa. It will be updated regularly with information on the project activities, events, educational materials, photos, documentation etc. Translation to the languages of the partners will be available.
  • Promotion and awareness-raising by all partners. Contact making with the media, press releases, contact making with teachers, sponsors and local politicians.

Phase B: Creation of the educational word list, January – July 2015

In this phase, the partners will create large word lists of a wide scientific spectrum which will later act as a training tool for the contestants in phase C. The kind of words to be included will have been discussed in the kick off meeting but they will generally refer to the environment, culture, social matters, science, history, art etc. Each partner will complete at least two groups of words. The final product will be translated into English and the partners’ languages and it will be presented in the intermediate evaluation meeting in Drobeta Turnu Severin (RO) (Headquarters of Ρ3). The participants will be the local coordinators and each partner’s person responsible for the education. The meeting will last 4 days. The next steps will be discussed in this meeting as well.

Phase C: Pilot Application of the Spelling Competition, July 2015 – January 2016

Phase C refers to the pilot application of a spelling competition, which will take place in each of the partners’ three communities. The target group of the contestants will be 13–14 year-old students. The partners will have the competition materials translated into their language and then they will launch open invitation through social websites, the press, the media etc. Each partner will select 30 contestants, who will be trained on word lists by the partner’s person responsible for the education and by local educators who wish to help. The three competitions will take place between the months October – December 2014, in appropriate venues (local theaters, libraries etc.). The competition will be organized in three phases:  quarterfinal, semifinal and final. High-profile persons will be invited to take part in the finals (artists, authors, politicians as well as sponsors). All contestants will receive a certificate of participation and a gift by the sponsors.

The third meeting will mark the phase’s end. It will take place in Debrecen (HU)—P2’s headquarters—and will last 4 days. The participants will be the local coordinators and each partner’s person responsible for the education. In this meeting, the partners will present the results of the competitions, they will assess their activities and they will discuss the contents of the activity manual which will be published later and will describe the steps that lead to the competition. In addition, this meeting will prepare the ground for Phase D.

Phase D: Dissemination, Promotion and Valorization, February 2016 – June 2016

The activities of phase D are the following:

  • Sending of press releases to local media, tracking news referring to the project, collection in scrapbook, constant updates to the journalists.
  • Constant update of the website.
  • Valorization of the social media (facebook, twitter, instagram)
  • Approach all partners’ contacts (also: friends and colleagues) in both formal and informal meetings.
  • YouTube channel with promotional material.
  • Mass e-mailing to agencies throughout Europe with information on HoMa and its results.
  • Presentation of the project to key agencies of the three partners’ member states (Ministries, politicians, mayors)
  • Presentation of the project to the Douzelage network, to have them replicate it.
  • Preparation of three nation-wide info-seminars. The participants should be educators, school counselors and inspectors. Approximately 30 people per partner will participate.

Phase E: Evaluation, July 2016 – August 2016

The last phase of the project will be dedicated to the general assessment of its results. An online meeting will take place, using Skype, where partners will contribute to the evaluation. The coordinator will combine the partners’ reports into one which will be sent to the National agency. A summary will be made available online to ensure transparency and to welcome feedback.
